Strength that Never Fails
Father's Day 2026
Every year Calvary Church dedicates a special day to commemorate earthly fathers and our Heavenly Father. This year’s Father's Day celebration was held on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at the Calvary Convention Centre with the theme "Strength That Never Fails” taken from Proverbs 20:7.

The celebration began with warm smiles and greeting signs from the Royal Rangers and Missionettes. The worship session led by Darren Here and the One Voice Boy’s Ensemble uplifted Calvarites with songs like “The King is in the Room” and “Holy Forever”.

During the worship offering, the Men’s Choir gave a special performance of “I Walk by Faith”, emboldening their commitment to putting their faith in God amidst life’s challenges.

The congregation was moved by video interviews of three fathers sharing the stories of their own fathers. After the tearful testimonies, the 116-member One Voice Choir presented their special number titled “Ayahku” which was accompanied by a heartfelt short-film about a father’s sacrifice.

Ministry Pastor Steven Kum then called out to the fathers in the audience for a prayer of encouragement to continue being the priest and prophet of their families. Guest Speaker Reverend Isaac Chan delivered a relevant and powerful message entitled “Everything Depends on This”. Pastor Isaac used Moses’ last commands to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6:1-3 to emphasise the importance of the role of God-fearing men in nurturing and mentoring the next generation of Christians (Deuteronomy 6:6-9).

The message touched the hearts of the congregation, leading to a big response and prayer at an altar call. The service concluded with Pastor Steven Kum leading the congregation in a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving to God for their earthly fathers.

Following the service, attendees adjourned to the plaza for a time of fellowship over snacks and beverages served by the Calvarite women. Families lined up to flex their smiles (and maybe their muscles!) at the photobooth featuring a bike and a cheeky "100 lbs" weight.

We thank God for the Calvary Family’s dedication and hard work in making a memorable celebration that uplifted fathers and showed them the unfailing strength of God’s love.

The children were immersed in a special lesson about a father's love through the story of Jacob's gift of the richly ornamented robe to Joseph - a beautiful reminder of a father's affection and blessings
