When Obedience Opened the Door to Our Double Miracle
In 2014, my husband and I, together with Louis, our elder son who was five years old at the time, gave our lives to the Lord. Things started to go downhill after that, but we thank God that through the encouragement of the church’s ministries such as Lifegroup(LG), School of Christian Growth(SCG) and AIM studies, things slowly took a turn in the year 2018. When God started to bless us, we thought that was the end of the bad part of our journey. Unfortunately, it was not!
In November 2023, I heard God telling me to stop my business supplying food to seven pre-schools because He wanted to give me rest for a year. I did not understand – being a five-figure job, that was our household’s main source of income, and I even tried to avoid listening to what God was telling me to do. However, running from God is very difficult, and I constantly felt God nudging me, so eventually I overcame my own feelings to submit. I obeyed, deciding to let go and let God do His will, even though I still did not understand.
In January 2024, I found out that I was miraculously pregnant again after many fruitless years.

We had even given up on praying for this baby, but God showed us that He never forgets our prayers, working His miracles in His own timing. Although initially astonished, we knew that God always does things His way because His thoughts are always higher than ours. Our elder son’s long-awaited sibling finally arrived after 15 years, and our family of three became a family of four – I finally understood why God wanted me to stop and rest.
In March 2024, I stopped all of my business ventures, depending solely on my part-time office job and savings; this left us a huge financial commitment with little income to fall back on. But God never fails to provide - even though it was difficult at times, we never lacked. Provisions always came in time, even though every month was a challenge.
In August 2024, I gave birth prematurely to our second child, Eden, who was supposed to be born in October. Once again, I didn’t understand why this happened all of a sudden; it was very stressful all around, with one uncertainty after another. However, once again, throughout the entire ordeal, we saw God’s hand over everything, including taking care of and protecting Eden while he was in NICU. God comforted me the whole time, assuring me that He is in control of everything. God’s hand on Eden was evident as he grew well, and after only a month in the NICU, he was discharged from the hospital and went home with us. Praise God!

Eden is our double-miracle from God. Firstly, we waited so long, and God chose to bless us with him at His timing. Secondly, although born two months prematurely, he arrived victoriously, bringing glory to God. Eden is now 18 months old, and his doctors are all surprised that his growth rate is the same as that of babies born full term. Although Eden will always be labelled as a premature baby on his records, his growth shows that he is on par with a full-term baby. All glory to God!

In April 2025, after exactly a year of rest that God mentioned, he blessed me with a new business opportunity to supply to two pre-schools again. I still do not understand the big picture, but I choose to trust in God’s plan and His timing.
As believers, all we need to do is just trust and obey.
